DigitalBridge Signs the Arizona Ocular Trauma Service as a Customer of Its DigitalBridge Digital On-Call Scheduling System™ (DBDOCS™)

First-of-its-kind scheduling solution will be used by 20 of Arizona’s leading ophthalmologists in 14 affiliated/non-affiliated hospitals to provide immediate care in emergencies and positively impact patient outcomes

OREM, Utah - June 12, 2008

DigitalBridge℠, the leading provider of protected information sharing solutions for digital ecosystems, today announced that it has signed a contract with the Arizona Ocular Trauma Service (AzOTS) to implement its DigitalBridge Digital On-Call Scheduling System (DBDOCS).

DBDOCS allows immediate, dynamic, and auditable on-call physician scheduling in the event of a medical emergency for affiliated and non-affiliated health organizations spanning a large geographic region or metropolitan area. Emergency Departments in these broad settings can use this advanced application to send and receive emergency call alerts through text messages (SMS), page, email and other digital context instantly to a physician’s digital device(s), regardless of the physician’s particular health system affiliation. When a change in scheduling or an emergency occurs, requiring a particular physician’s or specialist’s attention, authorized personnel can initiate an electronic data exchange, quickly determining who is on-call within the physician network at the time of the incident. The application is easy to use and intuitive, allowing quick access to physician biographical information, credentials, hospital privileges, relevant telephone, pager and mobile phone numbers, as well as email addresses, to ensure direct, immediate contact is made.

“We are proud to work with Dr. Peter Aiello and his team of ophthalmologists,” said Rob McCrory, General Manager of DigitalBridge Healthcare. “AzOTS is the market leader in its field, aligning itself with highly credentialed physicians and utilizing the most advanced technologies in its trauma response protocols. We believe the adoption of DBDOCS will not only complement their existing capabilities and enhance physician accessibility and scheduling convenience across multiple hospital systems, but it will help ensure immediate, optimal care so that positive patient outcomes remain their benchmark.”

AzOTS will use the DBDOCS system to coordinate responses to trauma in the event of ocular emergencies. AzOTS is aligned with 20 of the state’s leading ophthalmologists in the Phoenix metropolitan area for 14 affiliated and non-affiliated hospitals’ Emergency Departments across the state, earning it the reputation of being the default ocular trauma care provider.

Dr. J. Peter Aiello, founder of the Arizona Ocular Trauma Service said, “AzOTS is thrilled to work with DigitalBridge and its revolutionary on-call scheduling system. DBDOCS will enhance our productivity throughout the many Phoenix metropolitan area hospital systems, provide secure and auditable access to information quickly and conveniently, and help our physicians to provide the kind of world-class care we have come to be known for.”

DBDOCS solves one of the most persistent problems plaguing the health care industry: the ability to help physicians respond to emergency situations in a timely, efficient manner, ensuring the best case response to that emergency and contributing to improved patient outcomes. It extends a physician’s reach to unaffiliated hospital systems or networks, providing access that has never before been available. The incidence of human error in emergency communication situations is all too common. DBDOCS can reduce the possibility of human error, while also providing a complete audit trail, so failures in process can be thoroughly and accurately examined.
